Groomer's Choice Welcomes Tim Blankenbaker as Chief Executive Officer

We are excited to announce that Tim Blankenbaker has joined Groomer's Choice as our new Chief Executive Officer.
Tim brings with him more than two decades of experience building, growing, and transforming some of the most recognized brands in consumer products and pet care. Throughout his career, Tim has held leadership positions with organizations including Campbell's, Hanes, Mars Petcare, Greenies, and Halo Pet Food. In all of these positions, he earned a reputation for driving growth through customer-focused innovation, strong team development, and operational excellence.
Many within the pet industry will recognize Tim for his leadership of the Greenies brand at Mars Petcare. During a critical period for the business, he successfully led a turnaround by rebuilding trust among consumers and veterinarians, securing Greenies' position as the #1 veterinarian-recommended treat brand, and launching one of the most successful marketing campaigns in Mars' history. Under his leadership, Greenies doubled revenue while significantly improving profitability and operational performance.
Tim has consistently delivered impressive results throughout his career. Most recently, as Chief Growth Officer at Halo Pet Food, he helped accelerate growth, improve margins, and strengthen overall business performance. Prior to that, he led several apparel businesses at Hanes, where he improved service levels, streamlined operations, and drove sustainable growth by focusing on the products and experiences customers valued most.
Beyond his impressive business accomplishments, Tim is known for his people-first leadership philosophy. He believes organizations achieve their greatest success when employees are empowered to do their best work. He refers to this approach as "Winning in the Workplace," which is the idea that winning with customers begins by creating an environment where teams can thrive, collaborate, and remove barriers that stand in the way of success.
Tim's unique background combines both creativity and business expertise. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Miami before completing an MBA in Marketing from the University of Maryland, bringing together the art and science of leadership.
Outside of work, Tim and his family are passionate advocates for animal welfare. As longtime volunteers with their local Humane Society, they have dedicated countless hours to helping socialize dogs and connect them with loving forever homes.
